was born in the city of Beja in November, 20th, 1947.
Married with Belarmina Afonso, having the couple two children: Natanael Filipe and Teresa Sofia.
He was converted to the Gospel in Lisbon (Neves Ferreira church) in the year of 1967, and was baptized in 1968.
By an invitation of the Assembly of God in Luanda-Angola, went, in 1972, as a missionary to the province of Kuanza-Sul. After that returned to Portugal with the civil war in Angola and in 1976 assumed the work in Évora city.
In 1980 he went to the S. Miguel island - Azores, having founded the mission in Santa Maria Island.
Back to Portuguese continent in 1985, he conducted several churches: Tomar, 1985; Figueira da Foz, 1991; Responsible for the area in Setúbal, 1993, including Barreiro, Montijo, Ermidas, having also assumed the misison in Beja. After that he pastored in 1999, Benfica do Ribatejo and after that, the Entroncamento in 2001. May 2004 assumes the work in Porto's Pentecostal Assembly of God.
Pr. Joaquim Castilho, along the years, has been cooperating in several activities at national level, and working in countless organizing committees of Congress and Conferences.
In the present time, he is Vice-President of the National Board of CNAD (National Convention of the Assemblies of God), and also to the Pastoral Council of CNAD. He is also a member of the Social Committee of Bethania child Centre (Lar de Betânia) and IBAD (Biblical Institute of the Convention of the Assemblies of God).
He also lectured in IBAD the subjects: Church History, Oral Communication, Administrative Practices, scatology, Old Testament Doctrine, and more recently(2003/2004) the discipline of "Hebrews Epistle".
Pr. Castilho has been invited to visit some countries in Europe namely France, England, Sweden, and Belgium.
